The urban structures we inhabit are an inspiration to me. I look at that fleeing moment where we leave traces of ourselves in any given passing environment and aim to understand where we are now, what holds us to a place and how we fit into the mould of a set space. This has always been a fascination for me. A sense of place and the structures that hold us in place are also transient. We need boundaries and yet strive to move in an out from within them when these are also in flux.
In a broad sense my images look upon fractured architectural spaces and at times seem illogical. The perspectives intertwine with each other to create new set inner border structures which in turn are invaded by new architectural boundaries. The ground and walls float and enter and exit other set spaces. The illusion of solid space is successively disturbed.
I use paper collage to add texture to the body of my work and link the text to world history. I have also used compositional elements found in the old masters of the Renaissance bringing historical reference to `Perspectives`, not only in visual depth but also in that relating to the past and our present date.
